It does variations of the story with songs and interaction, however, it can get too repetitive for the parents having to listen to the background music (and the song itself). The CD that accompanied this book is especially darling. Overall, it's a nice hardcover book that's to be cherished as a family "heirloom." (if it survives all the gnawing and chewing of the book). If you plan to create a little library of books for your sweet little one, this is one of the books you should have. I heard about this book from another mom who read this to her children just about everynight.
